Black Gold is a new film highlighting the plight of Ethiopian coffee growers, who struggle to sell their coffee for a fair price on the international coffee market.
Did you know?
The international market for coffee is now worth over £40 billion, making coffee one of the most valuable trading commodities in the world.
This film follows Tadesse Meskela as he struggles to save Ethiopia’s 74,000 coffee farmers from bankruptcy. Ethiopian farmers harvest some of the highest quality coffee beans on the international market, and Tadesse travels the world in an attempt to find buyers willing to pay a fair price.
